Refund policy
At From My Island LLC, each piece of jewelry is handcrafted in small batches by artisans in the Dominican Republic. We follow a slow fashion approach with no mass production. Every item is created with intention and care.
Because of this, our Return and Refund Policy is designed to ensure fairness while honoring the unique nature of each creation.
Handcrafted Variation
Natural gemstones and hand wiring may show slight variations in color, inclusions, or finish. These are not defects.
Because each stone is shaped by nature, no two pieces are identical. If a replacement is issued, the stone’s color, pattern, or shape may differ slightly from the original.
These variations are part of what makes your jewelry one of a kind.
📦 Returns
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery.
To be eligible:
- Items must be unused, unworn, and in original condition
- Items must be returned in original packaging
- Proof of purchase is required
We reserve the right to refuse returns that show signs of wear, damage, or alteration.
Customers are responsible for return shipping costs. We strongly recommend using a trackable shipping service, as you are responsible for the item until it is received by us.
⚠️ Returns sent without prior approval will not be accepted.
🚫 Non-Returnable Items (Final Sale)
The following items are final sale and not eligible for return or refund:
- Custom or personalized jewelry
- Sale or discounted items
- Gift cards
- Items that have been worn, used, or altered
🔁 Exchanges
We do not offer direct exchanges.
If you would like a different item, please return your original purchase (if eligible) and place a new order.
⚠️ Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon arrival.
If your item is defective, damaged, or incorrect, contact us within 7 days of delivery at
from.myisland@thesunshinesite.com, including photos.
We will review the issue and, if approved, offer a replacement or refund.
💳 Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you of approval or rejection.
If approved:
- Refunds will be issued to your original payment method within 10 business days
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable
Please note that banks and card issuers may require additional time to process refunds.
If more than 15 business days have passed since your refund was approved, please contact us.
⚖️ Policy Abuse
We reserve the right to limit or refuse returns from customers who show patterns of excessive returns, abuse, or misuse of our policy.
